Songs about death
This is out of sequence but I've found myself putting together a playlist about death. I'm excluding murder because I think there are probably enough of them to make a separate playlist. The same goes for executions so, no Nick Cave Murder Ballads or Green Green Grass of Home.
There are a couple of cheesy ones on my list but I don't think I need any more about teenaged girlfriends in heaven after a car crash.
So, this is what I have at the moment:
Wayne Cochran - Last Kiss
Blue Öyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper
The Shangri-Las - Leader of the Pack
Arcade Fire - Afterlife
Elton John - Song For Guy - Single Version
Blind Willie Johnson - Jesus Make Up My Dying Bed
John Leyton - Johnny Remember Me
Gilbert O'Sullivan - Alone Again (Naturally)
Black Francis - Dead Man's Curve
Neil Young - The Needle and the Damage Done
Terry Jacks - Seasons in the Sun
The Rolling Stones - Paint It, Black
The Beatles - Eleanor Rigby
Madness - Cardiac Arrest
Randy Newman - Texas Girl at the Funeral of Her Father
Jan & Dean - Dead Man's Curve
Taylor Swift - epiphany
Morrissey - First of the Gang to Die
George Jones - He Stopped Loving Her Today
Sharon Van Etten - Afterlife
Bob Dylan - See That My Grave Is Kept Clean
Echo & the Bunnymen - The Killing Moon
David Bowie - Lazarus
Neil Young - Pocahontas
Roy Harper - When an Old Cricketer Leaves the Crease
Any other personal favourites (as opposed to songs you happen to have heard of) to suggest?
*EDIT* Bollocks. I just realised I have to take out Pocohontas because the deaths in it are due to mass murder. I love that song.

Ode to Billie Joe - Bobbie Gentry
For the mystery and enigma.
Nonsense to the aggressiveness, I've seen more aggression on the my little pony message board......I mean I was told.

Of course!
(Except I can't find a Nina Simone version on Spotify and I'm not having BS&T because I find them annoying).
