The divorce tour, how apt, Oasis never did meet a rock n roll cliche they didnt like.

These are all huge venues. I’d be surprised if they can come close to filling them but what do I know.

The Britpop thing pretty much entirely passed me by. I've actually heard a few tracks by them that I enjoyed, but nothing that seemed particularly essential.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

" To get the same experience as seeing Oasis live:
Put two action figures at the bottom of your garden
retreat to house
drink warmed up beer
play a Slade 45 at 33 1/3
burn 150 quid"

From Twitter

Over 300 quid with ticketmaster demand pricing, or touting as we used to call it

You could add to that getting menaced by some beered up right wing knob head and his mates who would doubtless find fault with me standing there tutting
Moorcock, Moorcock, Michael Moorcock, you fervently moan.

Interesting list - off the top of my head I’ve got albums by 37 of them, possibly more.

That list is pretty exhaustive, Rob. Good man. A real smorgasbord, highlighting the good, the bad and the adequate. NB Echobelly and Cast are appalling

Well like I said, what do I know. I’m sure you know better. But it seems weird to me. They couldn’t get arrested in the states back in the day and have nothing like the profile they do in the uk. It’s a funny world.

Don’t know about Echobelly but I liked three or four of Cast’s records - the hits primarily.

It's a bit strange, because it wasn't difficult to get tickets for them back then, and they weren't particularly good live. It's just one of those things that if someone famous stops doing something for a while, the collective public consciousness seems to decide that they were great at it. I genuinely didn't think their profile was THAT high over here either. I remember being a bit baffled at the televised gig that followed the Manchester Arena bombing, they kept going on about someone really special appearing soon as a guest slot ... and then it was Liam Gallagher, and I was kind of ... oh.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Thought it strange last night on the news when it mentioned a Britpop resurgence? Have I missed something or is this just typical of the media trying to big something up or dare I say it - create something that isn’t there?

I love all of Gene's albums.

An underrated band

I seem to remember Michael being a fan too, or did I dream it?

Copey- I was listening to heavier stuff in the 90s most of which was American

I’m not very good at remembering 90s bands but perhaps Belly, Throwing Muses, Husker Du, Pavement, Breeders, Bob Mould, Built to Spill, Dinosaur Jr had albums in the 90s

I gave up with NEW MUSIC after that

They're okay, but I'm not sure they will fill stadiums in the US.

I remember them touring over here on a co headline tour with the Black Crowes, playing a 6000 seat theater and it wasn't hard to get in.
