Oasis - so what do you think?
Reforming - lots of excitement for the Britpop generation, so what do you think?

Good luck to them.
Will they get through it without murdering each other? (Difficult but with those two, it's not impossible!)

It was always going to happen, so good luck to them. I'll never forget the excitement of hearing the debut for the first time, and, although there were diminishing returns as their career progressed, for what they did, they were as good as any of that genre. Just make sure you stick PURELY to Oasis material, though, and not of that solo mediocrity.

Re: Oasis - so what do you think?
Actually Noel can still write a damn good song - but although his voice is okay it lacks that BITE that Liam has.
I reckon Liam could upsell some of Noel's songs given the chance - no need to though as the band has plenty enough material.

Saw them live at Wembley years ago with my son, who will be overjoyed at their reformation. They were okay on the night but upstaged by Happy Mondays.
It’ll be interesting to see if they bring out a new album before the shows, I’m sure a live one will follow pretty soon after.

All my remaining Oasis albums went to the charity shop last week. So I’m not remotely bothered but maybe it’ll help the shop shift them on.

Hopefully the tour lasts to America. I’ll be there, not they will be as good as back in the day. Seen them a few times over the years including in the 90’s. I still like Noel’s solo stuff saw him last year.
Not surprised they reformed expected it since they both tour solo anyway. Assume they just play Oasis songs but let’s see. No Andy bell

There are some ‘leaked’ dates for gigs outside the UK/Ireland:
Aug 24th – Toronto – Downsview Park
Aug 27th – Chicago – Soldier Field
Aug 30th – East Rutherford – MetLife Stadium
Sep 2nd – Boston – Gillette Stadium
Sep 6th – Los Angeles – Rose Bowl
Sep 11th – Mexico City – Foro Sol
Probably the tip of a large iceberg!

If you've got tickets for the Edinburgh gig and are you are looking for accomodation, 2 nights in a Holiday Inn will cost you £1200. Holy ****!

I saw them at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, must've been around the same time because The Happy Mondays were one of the support acts then. I didn't have any expectations of Oasis, but Happy Mondays were really disappointing. I expected a bit of energy, a bit of sass and cheek, but they were tedious in the extreme. Oasis were worse though, to be fair. Don't get the fuss to be honest, there's no dynamic in their songs, and little variation in their sound, it's all a mush of post-Slade chugging.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

The Fringe is on in August. Hotels are always extortionate.

True, but don't forget the sing-along choruses. That's what made their fortune.

Turns out Noel is a reactionary, Tory prick, much like Thom Yorke for all his bleating about green issues.
So hopefully Liam kills Noel
Liam was ( possibly is ) a pretty cool front man in the not moving around a lot genre of front men
The albums are the clearest example of diminishing returns in rock music history, not even Sham 69 went downwards that quickly.
So they will make a fuckton of money and the gigs will be full of the sort of half wit, menacing cunts who made the Glastonbury they headlined such a fucking trial.
So I shall not be gracing them with my presence.
Missed out on seeing them in 94 or 95 which may have been good, saw them at Glastonbury where saying they phoned it in would be an insult to people who phone it in
That is enough for me
Moorcock, Moorcock, Michael Moorcock, you fervently moan.
