No mention yet of the Mahotella Queens - for shame.
The one shamelessly stolen by McLaren and Bow Wow Wow
and one featuring famed growler Mahlathini

Afro Celt Sound System - Release

Bhundu Boys - My Foolish Heart
I got a bit confused because the first track that came up by them was Foolish Harp (Which I think is just a trance remix with harp added).
Anyway, yes.

Wild stuff. Most of the tracks I've found are a bit long for a playlist but I've added Sunny Ti De Ariya as it's relatively short.

TINARIWEN! you numbskull. I spent ages looking for them, well, almost half a minute. Even more new (to me) music I love.

It feels odd liking the same music as you but this is nice.

The first version I found on Spotify (from their greatest hits) was so bloody anaemic I thought I was going to have to find another track, but I found another version with the drums pushed forward in the mix and it's soooooo much better.
In fact, I don't really rate his voice, heroic though he may be; it's the drums that make it for me.

Ethiopian music is unique, hypnotic and groovy, sort of a mix of Arabic and soul. The Ethiopiques series it all excellent. Check out a couple of these and see if you like it. Mahmoud Ahmed (third video) is one of the top singers, sort of a powerhouse, dripping with soul Otis Redding type.

Almost forgot to mention Orchestra Baobab from Senegal, a long-time favorite of Teabag and myself.
They produced a bucketload of albums. Highlights are Pirates Choice and Specialist in All Styles.
The music been described as "African Salsa", which is pretty accurate.

Don't give up until you've heard Rai Rebels.
You'll also need something for Egypt but I've no idea what.
