Although he was a member of Yes for 30+ years, played with John Lennon ( his drumming on Instant Karma was fantastic) along with numerous sessions, Alan White is never, ever mentioned

Katherina Bornefeld from The Ex is the best female drummer, surely? If not just the best drummer.

These things are always ludicrous though, how do you compare Brann Dailor against Jaki Liebezeit, and why would either be lower than some twat from Toto?
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

And we're still missing the wonderful Budgie and the tremendously consistent Martin Chambers of the Pretenders. The list is never ending.

If it's influence, it's Bonham. Rather obvious, but it truly is. If you go through a list of rock drummers since the 80's,there are a huge majority who list Bonham as their main influence. More than any of the others on there - in fact, I'd suggest almost as many as the rest put together.
Nicotine, valium, vicadin, marijuana, ecstasy, and alcohol -

Not my list C. just one I came across when we were talking about drummers, however, whatever you think of Dave Clark apparently other drummers thought quite highly of him and he features in some of these lists.

Jazz generally does have a tune but they don’t necessarily play it to you.

I laugh every time I see Ringo Starr on that list of Top 20 Rock Drummers of All Time....!

I recall the lad couldn't even play a simple rhythm on a couple of early Beatles tracks - they got somebody in to play those parts (didn't they?)

It's a joke that somebody like Barriemore Barlow is excluded but Mr Starkey is in.
