A thread for live footage from yesteryear

Postby Neige » 07 Mar 2024, 15:27

Inspired by frimley_greener's thread on Caravan (which I'd hijacked with other stuff). There's plenty of interesting stuff around on Youtube

This made my day, today: AI-coloured live material from the Essener Pop und Blues Blues Festival, Germany, October 1969, featuring Taste, The Nice, Pink Floyd, Keef Hartley, Warm Dust, Deep Purple, Aynsley Dunbar.... and short bits of Free and Fleetwood Mac!

Which led me to this, Renaissance Mk 1

I've always loved the debut to bits and just found out that Repertoire Records have released this warts and all 4CD + 1DVD collection (I'm seriously tempted)

Mitch Ryder had a great band... but his vocals were a bit wobbly

Frankie Miller I had missed at the time, but you're right, he's not sober either.

Excellent stuff Felix!

Rockpalast, like Beat Club, had some great footage.

Try this:

I love this track

I saw Rob on this tour, with other BCBers - it was splendid!

Nice!

I used to go to those Chalk Farm Roundhouse afternoon/evening shows.

The last one I went to (circa 1975) included Man, Groundhogs and Hawkwind. We went in my brothers Mini and he got it broken into and his cassettes nicked!

This is very nice - from the A tour which was excellent.

[I saw them at the Royal Albert Hall when Eddie Dobson impromptuly (?) leapt up to the venue's massive organ and started playing]

Essential viewing: Black Sunday, Heavy Horses, Aqualung and Locomotive Breath
Jobson adds a new dimension on Aqualung with his violin!

Nice to see the giant balloons at the end

Excellent sound and vision

I think Black Sunday was included on the 'Slipstream' mini-film

I really enjoyed that, great sound and the band smokes!
I love Jobson's piano bits in Black Sunday, and Peggy plays a mean bass in Aqualung!

The Slipstream film and the complete audio of that 1980 concert in L.A. were included in the recent "A" anniversary set.

Yes Peggy is an excellent bass and mandolin player

His contribution stood out in the above clip

Robust stuff?

I think so
