Maybe not

Holdsworth does Holdsworth. No one else does.

John does everyone. Better than most can.

ps I am aware Alan H is no longer with us, but 'did' seemed odd.

i am a big fan of the literary present tense, mwhahaha. such talent always lives

The husband of a college friend was a guitar freak and player, and he went to an Allan Holdsworth guitar workshop.

It was a bit of a disaster.
When the participants asked, for example 'How do you play the solo in 'Velvet Darkness?' Holdsworth just looked puzzled at his guitar and went 'you just do this', and played it twice as fast.

'How do you play the outro to 'In The Dead Of Night' by UK?'
''You just do this' (plays it three times as fast)

Everyone went away from the event realising that the way to play their favourite Allan Holdsworth track is...to be Allan Holdworth.

Progtastic.

To absent friends. Reap. And all the departed Canterbury crew. Far too many.

Yes, far too many.

Voted London's best venue a few times.

I walked out of a John Cale show there about fifteen years ago with Johnny Slider with a lot of other people.

Advertised as a solo show, he brought a dreadful electric rock band.

Another time I saw a Korean heritage evening there.

I feel I have not seen it at its best, perhaps.

A very fine venue.

Mind you, we are spoiled in this country.

I have seen Peter Hammill in a gothic church in Brighton. Tangerine Dream in Coventry Cathedral.

And my neighbourhood jazz club, where I once saw John Etheridge, is in the crypt of a church.:
