I remember Roundabout being THE single in the playground when it came out. I had just turned 10. The lyrics made total sense at that time.

I think we Brits find it quite amusing/odd that they were chart artists in the USA in the early seventies, even if they did have a few hits in the UK in the late seventies. I only listened to the single edit of Roundabout for the first time this year, actually.
It takes all sorts.

Great fun, thanks everyone.

To absent friends. Reap. And Chris Squire.

Were you in the USA in 1971, Chris?

The b-side was Long Distance Runaround.

The single went top 20, as high as number 10 in some US charts.

Yes. Born in Canada, moved to the US in 1964, stayed up through high school in 1978.

A-levels and university in England. Then back to Canada.

In fact, when we did part of Yessongs in June here on this forum, I posted this:

LMG wrote:I got this album in 1975, for my fourteenth birthday. I remember how sad I was that great shows like these happened in the world, and there I was stuck in dull old Knoxville, Tennessee.

In fact, parts of Yessongs were recorded in Knoxville, including this tune! (Yours Is No Disgrace)

I howled with laughter when I learned that many years later!
