Catchy or annoying?

Postby Minnie the Minx » 23 Jul 2022, 19:29

I'm in the catchy camp at the moment, but I have a vision it slipping into the other camp pretty quick.
You come at the Queen, you best not miss.

Catchy, not in the least annoying and a great video.

Very catchy indeed. Great band. Was disappointed with their last album, it had no spark, no fun elements, but this sounds like a return to form. Tres bien!

Catchy!

Their Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix release was one of my most-played CDs for a couple of years, and still gets quite a few spins.

Quite taken with the video too. One of the pictures featured (the first one that 'sings',at about 0m16s) is composer Franz Liszt. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix had a track called "Lisztomania". Watched the video again and spotted Wolfgang Amadeus (Mozart) later on. Can't say I can put names to a great many of the other pictures though.

Thanks for posting - hope it's not too long before a new CD materialises.

I'm in the catchy camp too and the video is very clever.

The video is cute, but I find the song more annoying than catchy. (Of course, the two qualities aren't mutually exclusive!)

Nice track by Phoenix. Seen them a bunch of times. Great fun band.

Actually back before they blew up - my friend DJed their after party. The band didn’t show up until 2 hours later. So ended up drinking with the band until 4am .

Catchy, definitely... even if it reminds me a lot of Empire of the Sun.

... and it's a brilliant video

A bit too generic to draw much of a reaction from me either way.

Fun live band too. Agree they are a bit generic but they have a little it factor I like.
Saw they at MSG and Daft Punk played the second encore with them ( one of the members of Phoenix played in a band with them).
