'Tis a corker.

Excellent selection this week, possibly the first time in my PSL history that I own all the albums and haven't had to rely on Spotify or YouTube.

Much energy. Should Kath be with us I suspect there'd have been some praise for the galloping rhythm.

Walking on a Wire Is even better

Linda sings it beautifully and the harmonies are to die for.

A cracking track

And that guitar!!!

Instrumentally, this album is their best.

I am very close to the songs, so cannot judge. Song-wise I may feel I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight is the better work.

Both albums are better than most artists produce their entire careers.

Doobs.

I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight just edges it for me, but it is a close run thing.

This album came out just as I was splitting with my first girlfriend, to whom I had been engaged several years. I played it and played it, sobbing along to every word.

Thing is, these songs are all concerned with the end of a marriage of ten years.

It was some years later after a couple of relationships of some years hit the rocks that I found out what these songs are really about.

'and it's only only the pain that's keeping you sane
and gives you the mind to travel on'

indeed.
