Harry Styles new one
I suppose Sir Paul is too rich to sue for blatant copying!
You come at the Queen, you best not miss.

I'm sure I'm being ignorant but I can't work out what it's supposed to be ripping off.
I quite like though!

Let Them In?
The opening chord is definitely reminiscient of Let 'em in, and maybe the overall feel. I would not rate this as a copy though.
I kept thinking "swim as far as you can, swim as far as you can".

That seems to be the consensus on the Internet. I think it has the feel but I wouldn't call it a copy either

I can't say for sure I've ever heard anything by him before so I guess not.
As I said, I like this song well enough and I may listen to some more.

No I don't think I know anything by him. I thought one direction were very ordinary.

Re: Harry Styles new one
"Blurred Lines" was pretty far from a blatant copy of "Got To Give it Up," but didn't keep Robin Thicke from being sued (and losing!)
And that was just a similar feel! I'd say if anything this copies the structure a bit more.
I'd vote no were I on a jury, but it's not unprecedented legally.
A mashup is of course inevitable. Has it been done yet?

Not even a vague resemblance to Let Em In. Are people deaf?

None of that makes any sense at all.
You can't sue for a song having a similar "structure" (whatever that means).

That's how I feel but then, I am quite deaf and some people who know their music seem fairly convinced...

I think the point is that recently, some people have been successfully sued for reasons we would consider pretty flimsy. If it goes to a jury, what percentage of the population would you expect to have any idea about the technicalities of these issues?
Bugger off.

I don't think such trials do in the UK.
