I submitted mine with a "link" rather than just the whole youtube address, and Maarts said that was ok and looked good.

I've been reading this every now and then but for the life of me I don't know what's the ploy. Then again, I'm bad at games. But it is a game?? I've watched 10 minutes of Temptation Island and had the same feeling of utter alienation.

Are you saying you don't know how the BCB cups work? I can explain if that's the case.

OK, well...
The basic idea is that everyone who enters the competition proposes a list of songs that they like, and people vote for the best list.

First, everyone who enters (16 people in total in this case), sends a list (in this case of 8 songs) to the organiser (in this case Maarts/NeverEver). He then puts the lists into pairs who will compete against each other in the first round.
He then posts these eight pairs of lists, each pair in a separate thread, and everyone votes for which list they prefer from each pair. (The lists are posted anonymously so you can't just go in and vote for me all the time).
The winning lists (8 of them) go through to the next round and the owner of the list adds a few more songs, though I'm not sure how many at the moment. They are then put into four pairs and everyone votes again.
And so on until there are two lists left. The winning pair from that final match-up is the new BCB Cup champion.

That's about it in a nutshell. There will be three songs added to every winning list progressing.

Of course it's all about the banter, pointless debates and bitter recriminations afterwards.

That's one of the reasons why the lists have been curtailed a bit. I intend to split the first round in 4 ties on Sunday and the next 4 on Wednesday and keep all the ties up for a week so people have time to listen properly if they so desire.

Please do send a list, it's going to be just fine.

I put up the first four ties of Round 1 in the Official BCB Cup- board. The second set of 4 ties will be put up on Wednesday. This to spread even the number of tracks to listen and vote to.
Ties remain up for a full week.
