Second part - just straightforward but so nicely layered! Would have lent well for an Edgar guitar solo.

So Maarts - how much of this whole album would be improvised?

Yes there’s not much guitar on this album

Too cold on the fingers probably!

And then the passage toward the end of Horizon...very lovely! Like something out of one of their soundtracks.

I'd say not too much. Edgar was meticulous in composition and structure. Thorsten Quaeschning mentioned that so much had been predetermined in practice.

That last part of Horizon really is the dogs bollocks.
Thundering sequences of the dark variety! Ominous strings! Perpetual rhythms! It's far from the brightness of the sun. Love it love it love it!

Yes - that’s what I would have thought but the impression is often given (particularly in the earlier days) that a significant amount would be improvised

Am I thinking Ricochet?

It's quite amazing you'd close a concert with such an ominous piece.
It's almost like Thief's Diamond Diary, thunders on, not as immediately catchy as Warsaw In The Sun but boy does it ROCK!

Ha, it should!

I'm so glad the current incarnation of the band is playing this as well and it sounds terrific.
