Some interesting info reg. Tangerines live albums.
Source: The Zest group on Facebook if memory serves me right
.
”There's not a second on LIVE MILES that was live - it was a contract filler. Every TD live album has been messed with, either things have been taken out - like Iris's out-of-time drumming or things have been added like extra guitar parts or parts that have been played with fewer mistakes.
RICOCHET mostly all studio apart from a part recorded in Croydon
ENCORE - probably at least 50% recorded in the studio - dropping their planned idea of side four being solo tracks (Baumann's Haunted Heights being one of them).
LOGOS - mostly all studio/backing tapes
PERGAMON - 50% studio
POLAND - 100% studio
LIVE MILES - 100% studio

Late 1980 - 2014 it was mostly all backing tape, DAT tape, Hard-disc/midi/WAV files or CD backing with live keyboard work from Johannes or Paul, later tours had practically nothing coming from their keyboards on stage (apart from the odd note or chord - after that it was just miming) - I think Thorsten was allowed to do one track live, with the usual live percussion and guitar parts performed live (ALL of the vocals were mimed). It's only since late 2014 that they wanted to return to real live playing, prompted by Edgar hiring Ulrich and seeing that live music can be performed and re-arranged in a live setting with Ableton Live etc. ”
