Sorry Googa, I may be narrow minded, biased or whatever but I am never going to buy or knowingly listen to a James Last piece of music. Charity shops are full of them, boot fairs are usually choc a block with them - no-one wants them.

None for me as well.
I must say I never come across them at record fairs.

I think in the 60s all households in Germany, Holland and Belgium had at least one album by James Last, Mario Lanza and Nana Mouskouri. I'm sure most of these have ended up on the scrap heap of kitsch history. Those that have are now being owned by Googs.

Oh, I got rid of my Mario Lanza. But I am keeping Nana Mouskouri.

I do have this, originally called "Well Kept Secret", bought for a buck.

It's quite atypical, with an amazing line-up but still sort of meh...

That looks interesting. I need to get it.

Looks like Sean Bean in Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones mode.

I'm always amazed by the sheer amount of James Last LPs in charity shops...

Nurse With Wound - Livin' Fear of James Last:
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

6 albums on 5 CD's. His recording of "Beyond the Sea" on the album "Speak to Me of Love" is the best version I have heard, even better than Bobby Darin's.
So if you only buy one Ray Conniff, this is the one to get:

Re: How many James Last albums do you own?
Years ago, an elderly friend of my mom's asked me to tape her Ray Conniff albums for her as she didn't have a record player any more. There were about six of them, all from the '50s or very early '60s, and I was dreading the task - I put it off for as long as I reasonably could.
But it turned out that they were actually really pretty good! The later stuff that I'd heard on easy listening stations growing up was really lushly slushy sickly sweet, but these had some clever arrangements and were fairly lively and varied.

James Last, Ray Conniff, Beyonce...
It makes me yearn for a new prog thread - almost.
