I saw Meatbodies a few nights ago. I've wanted to see them for about ten years? and I always miss 'em. Glad I caught up with them this time around. They were sensational and their new record is pretty strong, which is no surprise.

I do the same thing.
Rodriego & Gabriela
Neil Young - Was front row for Neil in Austin, TX on May 1st then the lightning and rains came and it was canceled.
Made it up by going to Forest Hill to see Neil and Crazy Horse. They opened up with a great Cortez the killer with the new lost lyrics.

love this.
Got a free ticket for Joe Jackson at the Apollo Theatre although the walk back to my car wasn't a good idea. Should have taken an Uber.
Joe did a solo set of hits before doin a bunch of songs from his new album of interpretations of Music Hall from the 1910's. He explained that it was from the time the Apollo Theatre was built.

Amazing pics, as usual.
I love James Walbourne, he's visibly giving all he's got.

He does a great impression of Janet Leigh in Psycho as well. Unfortunately, the photo was out of focus.

Floored tonight.
Saw the 4 bill prog tour here in USA
Asia/Focus/Marvin Turners WA/ Curved Air
Curved Air opened with no drummer - Sonja sounded great. Great short set.
MT- nice set and Thijs sat in on a song.
Focus- amazing set by a band I’ve been wanting to see since the 70’s, they never cone to USA. Thanked them after.
Asia- walk out after a few songs
Pictures to come.

Manic Street Preachers and Suede at Ally Pally last Thursday
Beautiful evening marred early on by Great Northern Trains fucking everything up and not running services stopping at Ally Pally for hours leading to scrambling to find buses etc.
But once we had got in in and had a Mr Whippy and 2 pints of cider things calmed down a bit.
Never been to Ally Pally before, assumed it was an inside gig so didn't wear shorts which was a shame as it was a lovely warm evening
A decent venue, plenty of food, plenty of bars, plenty of loos, good viewing all the way back and a 35 minute drive home round the North circular; cracking.
Who knew Suede and the Manics were mates since the early days? Brett Anderson told a rather sweet story about how Suede were like the problem child at school whose parents worried they had no friends, but Suede did have friends because they had the Manics, almost shed a tear.
They alternate headlining each night so on this evening it was the Manics in the setting sun and Suede in the gloaming, both did about 1hr 15 mins, I assume for curfew reasons as it is quite a residential area.
But that means it was 2 hours crammed with hit after hit from the last 2 great British rock bands, apologies to Sea Power who are great but never going to fill out a stadium.
One of the greatest rock songs of all time
Thoroughly impressed by Suede having not seen them in decades
Brett Anderson is a proper front man, you can see him and the crowd feeding off each other; it is great to see someone who can work a crowd and still sing beautifully, at one point headfirst in the front 5 rows, who all seemed to be attractive middle aged women, lucky Brett.
Fantastic evening 5 pints of cider, 3 glasses of wine, 2 brilliant bands, one tofu masala wrap and a 99
