Tull's new one... [OUT NOW!]

Postby C » 09 Jan 2022, 14:09

I am waiting nervously for its release.

I'm not holding my breath

Is it going to be the 'one too many'....?

Pre-release views goons....?

Do you guys know who are the musicians? Just curious whether or not there are any stalwarts from yesteryear.

None

Joe Parrish-James (Guitarist), John O'Hara (keyboards), David Goodier (bass) and Scott Hammond (tubs)

Longest servers: John O'Hara & David Goodier who have been in the band since 2007. They both played on Ian Anderson's Thick as a Brick 2 [2012] and Homo Erraticus [2014]

TAAB 2 is excellent

I think the last studio album under the JT moniker was that dot com thingy, some 20-odd years ago. I've never heard it so can't judge but the reviews weren't very positive, to put it mildly. And that was was still with Martin on guitar. I'm not holding my locomotive breath.

I think it is the best of the last four. For me, one needs to go back to 1987's Crest of the Knave which I think is excellent

I think he really should call it a day. There isn't going to be a septogenarian revelation. He isn't going to pull any rabbits from the hat. In fact he should have stuck to salmon farming when that was his latest fad. The thrust has been neutered, and the power chords no longer thrill. Have some dignity man.

It got a good review in the new Prog magazine (and elsewhere) although since he gave them an interview that probably isn’t surprising.

Indeed

It's Ian's voice - he doesn't really sing so much these days but talks in a melodious way.

It gets a little samey as it's all within the same limited range.

This was a good album - I love it!

LET'S ROCK!
