David Gilmour was re-released by EMI Records in Europe as a digitally remastered CD on 14 August 2006. Legacy Recordings/Columbia Records released the remastered CD in the US and Canada on 12 September 2006. It features expanded versions of some of the tracks.

Some tracks are almost a minute longer than my/our original vinyl

It sounds a well recorded and balanced album, luxuriant in layers.

love the lyrics

I edited them above as they were misheard on the version I quoted first.

There was a live show promoting DG's next album About Face. It was shown on MTV one evening. Roy Harper joined on stage to sing SHort ANd Sweet. He introduced himself by asking 'Is this my walk on part in the war?'

I like all of Dave Gilmour's solo albums. Even About Face, which he agrees was too 80's.

He make quality music on his own. Heartfelt and underpinned by wondrous guitar.
