Funnily enough, Ian Hunter was born in Shropshire, not far from the Welsh border and near Deke's birthplace. They might actually be distant cousins.

Small world.

Ian Hunter's autobiography was an interesting read too.

i need to read this one too.

Yes, both writers have their complete works on my shelf devoted to well-written and enjoyable books authored by rock musicians.

The rest of the space on that particular shelf I use for my stereo, my jazz and classical CD collections, and all of my Christmas or birthday cards at the appropriate times of year.

I have moved on to live Man.

The underplayed Live at the Marquee released a decade go. Two CDs and a DVD with a film of the entire show. Deke, Mickey, Martin Ace and John Weathers of Gentle Giant on tubs.

Fantastic.

They play then-unrecorded new Man material, plus classics like Romain, Spunk Rock, Bananas, Many are Called, and others, plus rarely played tunes from 70s Man LPs, such as Kerosene and Back Into The Future.

A sterling package.

£14 from amazon marketplace:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Live-At-Marque ... C81&sr=1-1

For those who did not get what they wanted from Father Christmas. Just sayin'

Farewell all.

Thanks for a great communal experience.

Thanks for all the shared listening pleasure in 2021. In good times and bad.

See you next year.

To Deke, playing up there in heaven with all the other departed Man guys.

To all absent friends.
