The French for Soft Machine was Machin Moull. So THAT'S where that other band got their name from

Machine Molle, actually
molle is the feminine form of mou (as in "caramel mou")

Well, I just found out that Jeff "Skunk" Baxter had a change of career and has done work as a defence consultant for the US government and even chaired a Congressional Advisory Board on missile defence.
Bugger off.

Can't think of any revelation concerning music I've learnt recently. However, I was surprised to learn recently that James Dohaan (Star Trek's Scotty) was wounded on D Day, being shot six times, four in the leg, one in the chest that was stopped by a cigarette case and one on his right middle finger which caused its amputation. He generally took care to avoid being seen on screen.

Never knew that the performance of John Cage's composition "As Slow As Possible" is still ongoing and is, God-willing, scheduled to finish in about 619 years. And the best part is that the performance is live at St. Burchardi church in Halberstadt, Germany. The performance began on September 5, 2001 and is scheduled to have a duration of 639 years, thus ending somwhere in 2640. Eat your heart out Jerry Garcia!
