It does, doesn't it? Right until it starts to set. Is there a song that's called There Goes The Sun?

By George, you just might be right about that!

There ought to be. Unless/until there is, we'll have to settle for this:

Is it Here Comes the Sun?

It's used (not the Beatles version) in a bizarre section of Bee Movie, while a heavily implied romance of a carnal nature between a woman and a bee play out in the background.
Bugger off.

Bob, note Hawkwind Zoo

Before dropping the 'Zoo' they made an EP on which "Hurry On Sundown" was one of the tracks. This version is more electric and psychedelic than the acoustic folky feel of the later debut album version

I have heard Hey Jude ... I actually own it :?
For this cover they assign their very best singer. Both Jerry and Bob are deemed sub par on this occasion and one, only one member can be assigned the vocals on this performance ... Yes Ron steps out from behind his organ ( actually he probably doesn't even do that!) ... to give us the whole song.
So while one winces during the verse/chorus sections there is this feeling of impending doom as one approaches the extended coda. That Pig does this with his characteristic skill and precision (and hopefully while swigging a bottle of wine) is ... well he gets A for enthusiasm!
It's not so much a train wreck as more like a train wreck that insists on getting back on the tracks to hurl itself off again at every opportunity.
I love it! :D

I kinda like the Grateful Dead but Jesus H Christ I want to hear exactly none of them. Every one, a potential disaster. Seriously, what an unmitigated nightmare.

I've heard a lot of them, and have enjoyed to one degree or another a relative few of them - I doubt many would dispute that they effectively own "Me And My Uncle", and the rave-up on "Viola Lee Blues" is arguably their first album's highest peak.

Of the ones I hadn't heard, I admit I was curious enough to hear what they did with/to McCartney's "That Would Be Something" to seek it out on YouTube; it's such a nothing ditty to begin with, I thought they just might have taken it somewhere interesting. Alas!

Easily 50 of them plenty live too(30?) Remember the tour they got Phil to sing ago. Saw him sing “just like Tom Thumb..”. Favorites were those 80 acoustic shows at radio city and the warfield. Saw 3 many off bear choice . Always liked the dead’s Iko iko, smokestack lightning, turn on your love light (. Wish I saw with pigpen) . Morning dew , Samson & Delilah. Last time I saw Weir do me & my uncle he mumbled the words and passed out. Some one gave him a sleeping pill .

I'll extend it through Stormwatch (and continue to stick with albums-as-we-would-have-known-them-in-the-day, even though I prefer the Madison Square Garden recording to Bursting Out). And rather than "favorite" or "best" I'm approaching this as "most likely to put on at the present time."
