Ar you good enough that you can distinguish who plays what on albums featuring two artists playing the same instrument? Like twin guitars, twin saxes, etc. Isolated, I can pick them out, but I have trouble when they play together. Right now I've got Gerry Mulligan playing alongside other saxophonists like Ben Webster and Zoot Sims. It helps that Gerry is on baritone, but what if they are exactly the same instrument? Liner notes can sometimes help you along in your listening. Occasionally, I just pass on such albums, like I initially did with George Harrison Live in Japan, but eventually I come round.

Funny you should mention.
On this album, the two exchange instruments on three songs.
Who's playing what on this track?
And this one? (no tricks; they're different)

Oh, I would not dare to attempt a guess. If the instruments are the same, I am not very good at that.
