To answer THIS thread, I think The United States of America is a good answer. The Tomorrow album is pretty amazing, but it also sounds very much of its time while the USA album doesn't sound dated at all.

Others one-album artists I could nominate for this category:


Gary Walker and the Rain
Red Scare
Euphoria (A Gift from Euphoria)
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?
