Walking was great - nothing innovative, lots of familiar parts put together to make a most satisfying whole.

We spend so much time pondering 'what if there were an alternate universe in which Refugee/Nick Drake/Quatermass/Kevin Coyne/etc had been a huge commercial success

How about wondering what it would have been like had Dire Straits sold a few thousand of this album, made a second album which sold even less, and gone back to session work and teaching?

And you could say 'that's money for nothing' without thinking of Sting? Or pick up and strum a tennis racket wearing a headband and people will say 'you look like John McEnroe'!?

I would not want to have missed Making Movies but otherwise I could ponder that.

A very low key ending to a great, subtle album.

Never bettered by this band/ A strong case indeed.

Happy b-day Mark Knop

And as a teacher, was inspirational to a group of young tykes who were filled with revolutionary zeal, formed a political party with a socialist and green agenda that is now in power, thanks to their word smithery.
