Hello all.

Fabulous sounds.

To absent friends. And Brother Rick.

I think this album just has the edge over Inner Mounting but I might be wrong

Good evening Chris and welcome

This album on CD was my intro to the Mahavishnu O. It is still my favourite.

Real King Crimson vibe on this first track.

Okay - whilst we are enjoying Johnny Mc and the lads we need an album for Friday

Ten points max one 4 - all points to be allocated

Steve Hackett - Spectral Mornings
Santana - Caravanserai
Streetwalkers - Red Card
Lindisfarne - Nicely Out of Tune
Fairport Convention - Liege & Lief

Very close.

Over the last six months or so the Trident Sessions has been rising more and more in my estimation, and is my current favourite. Not necessarily the best, just current favourite.

Yes and yes.

A sheer delight!

The whole album is just amazing - as is the first actually.

Although Jean-Luc Ponty was Johnny's first choice I think those albums containing JL are not as strong.

We can only speculate on what sort of difference JL would have made to the first two.

Celestial Terrestrial..

Wonderful~!

Miles's influence on John M cannot be underestimated.

Interesting that Miles was keen to play with Hendrix, and would have done had the latter not died young.

Mclaughlin's (truly) excellent pre-Mahavishnu solo album Devotion featured Jimi's collaborators Billy Rich and Buddy Miles.

Thousand Island Park is too short. Great riff.

Devotion is indeed a brilliant album.

I recall pointing Yomp in the direction of that album (if my memory serves me correctly ...... :? )

We should put Devotion on the list.

[and Quatermass]

All those in favour?
