I do enjoy Blackmore's guitar playing

The lad was certainly no Ronnie!

Though he was Adrienne Posta's other half for a while, a role I would have been up for.

Who's the keyboardist?

Powell sounding solid!!

Tony Carey.

I know little about him - although I thought I did.

Let me explain: I got him and Don Airey, later Rainbow ivory tickler and currently in Deep Purple, conflated.

I did not realise they were distinct persons.

Both in Rainbow, one was also in Jetho Tull and Purple, tonight's was not in either.

I didn't realise this album was so short - less than 34 minutes

Love Starstruck - it is one of this lineup's most 'we are a BAND, actually' moments.

Their live double LP is short too - 64:11

DP had live songs as long as this whole album!

There's a 'Wring That Neck' live from Stockholm that is over 34 minutes.

Just sayin'.

It's all been fairly frenetic so far - did they do any slow numbers?

'Hi Ronnie, there's a couple of Uriah Heep's roadies here - something about leaving a lyric book in the studio before they had to move so Rainbow could start your album. Any sign of it? OK - I'll tell them we ain't seen it, we'll be in touch if it should turn up...'

Live, they did late Purple''s ''Mistreated', The Yardbirds's 'Still I'm Sad', and Henry VIII's 'Greensleeves'.

The above is the tracklisting of the second LP of On Stage.
