Good evening all.

To absent friends.

In the village where I grew up
Nothing seems the same
Still you never see the change from day to day
And no-one notices the customs slip away

Delightful start - I suspect change is coming.

This is my first listen to this album, so far not what I was expecting.

I loved Husker Du and Bob's first solo album dovetailed in nicely.

I just adore the 'cello

I love a bit of 'cello me

It certainly an excellent album Chris.

It made my Top 200 very easily

I worked with an intern in the 80s when I was a corporate finance manager.

He was insane in his love for Husker Du. He was popular, and when he left we got him the Bob Mould album after this one, Black Sheets of Rain. It was a cassette, and I kept it in my car so I would have it to hand when he left.

I played it a few times and then a lot more and then got another copy for his gift. I soon got this one on CD - the complete BM solo collection!

Fabulous music! Great riffs, passionate vocals, riveting songs.

Wishing Well is harder, but still not the sound I was expecting.

Ah - the instrumental section - that's a bit more like what I anticipated.

Good stuff so far!

The 'cello gives it a lift

And thunderous tubs alongside a nice little bass pattern

Now this is FULL of music

I have seen him live with Sugar and solo with just a guitar.

I SO wish I had seen the tour for both of his first two albums.

Anton Fier.

One of the main reasons I wish I had seen the tours for the first two solo albums.

Black Sheets is a good album but not as good as this.

I think I have all the Mould solo albums.

They are generally consistent.

Correction only up to The Last Dog and Pony Show which is excellent

I think I prefer the later Sugar albums though which are incredibly consistent
