Do EP's count? The last was Dälek's Respect to the Authors

First single I can recall buying was Pet Shop Boys It's a Sin, but I may have bought stuff before that, probably by Level 42.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

I think the first might have been Snow's Informer. I was really trying hard to fit in...
Last one might have been Anna Calvi's Eliza.

Possibly the first one was 'True blue' by Madonna, at the time it came out.
Most recent purchase was 'I know what it is to be young (but you don't know what it is to be old)' by Orson Welles. Last recent single was december 2020, 'X-mastime is here b/w Karl-Bertil Jonssons julafton' on 7", by Motorpsycho.

Never really bought singles, preferred buying LPs but the first I bought was very probably The Kinks 'Til The End of the Day' or it might have been The Who's My Generation both in 1965. I bought the latter second hand, although, it was released before the Kinks' one and so it might have been after. I did buy the Kwyet Kinks E.P. before either of the singles though.

Think the last one was the White Stripes' 'Red Death At 6:14' one that Mojo offered for £1.50 and is now worth quite a bit - can't quite remember the timing of that.

All in all I think I might have bought no more than five or six singles throughout my record collecting life.

First three, all at once: He's a Rebel, Telstar and Love Me Do in 1962.
Most recent, a spare copy of my all time favourite, Spector/Turner's I'll never need more than this a couple of years ago. But I don't think that's the last. Counting CD and 12" singles, have/had more than 3,000 of them

Not sure on singles, but EPs

First

The Apple Walls Ice-Cream EP, bought at my primary school's summer fete in '69. Think a dad worked for Wall's and had a load he donated.

Last

Megson's Follow It On EP, which has a live version of the stunning Just Stay and the not an an album Grace Darling, a song I was able to use when teaching my class about Grace and the RNLI, circa 2006. The other tracks on the EP eventually were released on album.

First, I remember vividly.
Last, I have no idea. Probably decades ago.
