Thanks, I checked out the first ten minutes or so, and I like it. I'll delve in further.

I'm enjoying it -- I've listened a few times, save it for when you want to space out a bit.
Its less jazz, more Gavin Bryars.

Always been a sucker for that vintage sound.

any thoughts on latest St Vincent?
reminds me a lot of Beck's Midnite Vultures - a similar turn in their relative careers up to that point.

Silver Jews, Bonnie Prince Billy and Bill Callahan all on one song. Hurrah!
It really still sounds like Silver Jews...

Can't say that one really hits me right. Sounds like a bunch of drunks. (Then again, you could say that about a lot of my favorite records.)

But the new Bonnie Prince Billy/Matt Sweeney album is an eye opener. The first Will Oldham record I've managed to listen to all the way through since... the previous Superwolf album, and that's a long time.

Still - a very ugly cover.

The Qobuz newsletter recommended Mdou Moctar, a musician who is "known for his innovative, electronic adaptations of Tuareg guitar music", He's nicknamed "The Hendrix of the Sahara". Listened to it in the car on the way home and was very impressed. "Afrique Victime" is the new Hi-Res release. If you're not into this type of music (distinctly West-African dipped in an Arabian sauce, or something like that) this is not for you, but if you are I don't think it gets much better than this. I am and I liked it a lot.

Bill Callahan is the same guy as Smog, right? He's done some nice things. And I adore Will Oldham with a vengeance. I wish one day he'd produce an album as good as "I See A Darkness". That song with Bill certainly ain't it.

I can't find the record anywhere. Sold out wherever I go, it seems. It must be doing well.

Not part of any album, but I always like it when Beak> shows up again:

Was a bit disappointed with the new Black Keys-album, but this single will do me for a bit of fuzzy fun.

Excellent, although he seems to have swallowed the keyboard sound from Peter Gabriel II throughout.

I love Angel Olsen. This is no more than a bedroom recording/demo but it's lovely:

I like it too. I don't think it's anything unexpected - he's got his style down, but really good songs and nice arrangements.

I've never been a huge fan of his voice. This is very nice and works as pleasant background music for me. That's what I actually need these days so it's a positive for me.

She's also done a collaboration with Sharon van Etten that was release this week - very nice.

But I love this one.

A nice synth/pop album, shades of MGMT

This is actually from 2020 but I only just discovered it and I think it's aces.
I like the line: 'I was gonna fight facism, but I went on Facebook instead.'
Sums me up.
