"Silence is Golden" was a big hit for Tremeloes, a successful and superior cover of the Four Seasons' original. Another one of the Four Seasons' songs that Tremeloes covered was "Rag Doll". I don't rate Tremeloes higher than Four Seasons, but I like both and think I even like Tremeloes' "Silence is Golden" better than the original. "Rag Doll, too, is expertly covered.

I don't know.
I can take the Tremeloes as much as the Four Seasons.
Their few hits are enough of both for me.

Seasons I've got the run. Tremeloes I have quite deep, too.

I guess they do a nice enough job with that song. Not a favorite of mine, though. I do love the Tremeloes' version of "Here Comes My Baby," though.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

Yes, "Here Comes My Baby" by Tremeloes is a very lively and inspired cover. Better than Cat Stevens' original, I'd say.

Re: Four Seasons as covered by Tremeloes
Many years ago, I was lucky to see the Tremeloes live in concert on a 60s triple bill with Searchers and Swinging Blue Jeans. An evening well spent.
The order of appearance was:
1. Tremeloes
2. Swinging Blue Jeans
3. Searchers (headline act)
Personally, I'd have put Swinging Blue Jeans on as the opening act, Tremeloes were always bigger and better.
Reminds me of another package concert many years ago, where the Searchers also headlined. First up was Herman's Hermits, followed by The Bootleg Beatles. Should have been the other way round, but Bootleg Beatles did play a nice "A Day in the Life", which I'd only ever heard live as performed by Jeff Beck. So in that respect, it was all good.
