Got it, thanks! You can delete it if it's just for me.

I only mentioned the Bacharach/Penn comparison because of their connection with EC and NL respectively. BUT if somebody then has the audacity to ditch Dark End Of The Street I get very upset. That is without a doubt one of the best songs ever written. As is Do Right Woman. Burt wrote a lot of very decent songs but nothing as good as those two classics. And let's face it, that Painted From Memory album was horrible. God Give Me Strength is the last song on the album. Should have been the first one because maybe that would have given me strength to get to the rest of that sugary sweet garbage without too much suffering.

Dark End of the Street is a fine song, but has Burt ever written anything as good or better ?
Hell yeah!

I don't much care for Do Right Woman either.

Apart from the bit about Dark End of the Street, absolutely.

Same here, with 29 versions on my HD. :)

Pure genius.

It's not actually a true story. Kenneth Anger just made it up.

Out of curiosity I just did a little search. Mary Prevost (1896-1937) was a Canadian actress. She died of alcoholism and malnutrition. Her body was found a couple of days later. An *almost* true story then.
