2019 top tunes 11: Lizzo

Postby Rorschach » 03 Mar 2021, 16:27

I tried to compile a list of favourite tracks from 2020 but I found it hard going. I didn't really like that much. More on that later...

But anyway, my wife and I both still really enjoy the playlist I made for 2019 and there are plenty more great tracks I didn't get round to mentioning.

I can't imagine this being a huge hit with most of the crowd here but at least I know Minnie likes Lizzo.

I think this is a terrific piece of pop. The woman has fine musical sensibilities and timing and a thoroughly expressive voice.

I can't listen to more than three tracks in a row though...

Bugger off.

Yeah, I pretty much feel the same way you do. It's not a sound I'm into, but she does it really well and it's engaging, and I like her - she has a nice presence. But likewise I wouldn't listen to a whole album. As commercial productions go, it has a lot of human elements, which is refreshing in this day and age.

I totally agree.

She comes across as a really nice person, but I really dig her in small doses.
