Boogie woogie piano master extraordinaire.
Died in his sleep at home in Austin, Tx.
Gene played with the Blasters, Doug Sahm and god knows who else.
RIP Gene Taylor

One of the great box-bangers of our time. The Blasters were never the same after he left.
RIP.

Sad to hear that news. He was superb at boogie woogie. I have his first solo album on vinyl which I’ll play today in his honor.

His family is saying he died of a heart attack brought on by hypothermia.
One for the "small government is better government" folks. When it results in poor basic infrastructure, it can actually kill.
Apparently Katrina taught us nothing.
