The Beatles - Love

I know from FB that some of you saw the Cirque du Soleil show that surrounded this release. I didn't.

But, all in all, the CD it's a fine piece of work put together by father and son Martin.

I still put it on from time to time.

It's a complete waste of time apart from a small thirty seconds. James Last would have done a better job.

Played it myself a few weeks ago, still enjoyed it, what's not to enjoy?

It's never appealed to me, so I haven't listened to it. What is to enjoy? (genuine question).

I’ve never owned it or heard it. I think it was going on in Vegas when we got married in 2002 but we went to the Blue Man Group instead. :P

I struggle with it.
I'm sure it would work better in the live setting with the Cirque du Soleil visuals etc.

There's always this as an alternative!

Give a shit or be a shit.

I enjoyed it. There are some fairly clever mashups. Not the sort of thing I'll listen to often, but worth a listen once in a while.

Saw the show and enjoyed it. I own the soundtrack, and it has some very nice moments. But I very, very rarely crave hearing those particular versions over the original songs. If it shows up at random I don't shut it off.

There have been so many interpretations of the Beatles' song catalog, James Last for one, that I don't mind yet another radical take, a mash-up to boot. The first such mash-up that I ever heard of, was a White Album/Black Album mash-up in 2004. It was called "The Grey Album" and was quite well received by both fans and critics alike. I never listened to that one, but then this Love thing came along, and the prospect of George and Giles Martin helming another Beatles project, was something I could not resist.

It's the mixing of all those pieces that's easy on the ears if you want an easy listening for once.

Interestingly ccc who used to be a member here was the first - to my knowledge - to do whole albums of beatles-mash-ups. And they were very entertaining. Revolver & Pepper.

Excellent, thank you. I shall give it a listen when I'm walking the dog, later.
