Is that the music snobs from the provinces or Covent Garden?

You wouldn't let it lie, would you?

As you're only about twenty five miles from me, how do you be doing hick?

i think you'll find that those are 20 long miles as far as hicksville is concerned. The heart of the golden triangle is hardly Wallingford...is it???

Well, since you ask...Missenden Abbey is 11th century, and is built on the site of and earlier monastary. The George was opened in 1183, as the coaching inn on the main london to Aylesbury road. We are not short on History around here you know. :D

Ah, but our Charter was granted in 1155. When was yours granted?

On the way down, Missenden Abbey can be glimpsed through the trees on the left. It was founded in 1133, and after its dissolution in 1538 was converted into a private house. It has changed much over the years, and now serves as both a management training centre and an adult education centre.
Neither the Abbey nor the grounds are open to the public.

I don't know about a charter. Missenden is very small ( and exclusive!) I'm sure if we needed one, we would have one, and it would be earlier and much better than yours. :D

After a little research , It seems you only need a charter to have a market. Missenden has never been a market town, as Amersham to the east , and Wendover to the North were both Market towns. Missenden is a small village, not some vulgar town with a pikey market. Please, have a little respect!

Great Missenden, yesterday.

I love this album. It's not perfect, of course, there are weak tracks, but definitely a 9 out of 10 release and to this day an extremely exhilirating listen.

"Bodies" is my personal favorite, if only for the greatest recorded profanity in the history of popular music. You know what I'm talking about.
Interviewer: So what did you do in the tent?
Brian Wilson: Ate sandwiches.
Brian's friend: Basically we smoked a lot of hash.

Ah, finally you speak my language!
So there might be something to these "Sex Pistoleros" then?
(Like Di'Anno or Dickenson Maiden?)

Poppycock!

There's something nasty about NMTB. There's a nihilism and a real sense that the music is right in front of your face and about to hit you. Not yer plodding long-haired rockers in waistcoats. :x

In truth, I always thought the first Iron Maiden album sounded more like punk than metal. Its a far cry from the later stuff.Really dirty and basic.
Im not saying its NMTB, but it really isnt ploddy.

You can dress it up anyway you like Prof, but its just another heavy metal album to these ears. Its slow and graceless, pompous and lazy. It has one or two good tunes on it, and a load of attitude, but not nearly enough to save itself from shooting itself in the foot. The truth is that Johnny Rotten wasn't able to turn Jones matlock and cook away from being the pub rockers thay subsequently turned out to be.
