Jon Anderson vs Graham Nash

if the pair came to blows while discussing who was more down with the whales while sharing
an otherwise perfectly polite pot of tea who do you reckon would win?

well, graham would probably win in a fair fight.

but i'm still always gonna go for jon. his voice sounds so.. heavenly. angelic. (meaning he'd probably cheat like a lil bastard.)

I'd go Graham.

First, he grew up on the mean streets of Manchester (Salford, iirc) whereas Jon comes from a bit more genteel Accrington.

Then there's the fact that Graham held his own with messers Crosby (regularly coked to the gills and waving around a loaded gun),
Stills (when he wasn't off doing grunt work in Vietnam) and Young (perhaps the most ornery bastard in rock).

Working with Yes and Vangelis must have been a doddle by comparison

Jon is an expert in Kung Fu, which he was taught in the Far East, during the time of the Yes solo albums sabbatical of 1976.

I don’t fancy Nash’s chances, to be perfectly honest.

I saw Graham Nash a few years ago in St. Charles, IL (hotbed of Conservatism; home of Jenny McCarthy) in a small theater packed with aging Boomers sipping $10 craft beers. Graham introduced a song with a good 2-minute speech about the police in Ferguson, MO and how he (and CSN) had always stood for what was right. The crowd quickly went from grumbles to outright boos. Graham is the shit.

You’d better run if you ever get on the wrong side of Jon. Bong Kong Fuey, he’s known as.

Jon by a mile... don't forget he sang about "Survival". He'd give Nash a long distance runaround. However, as Nash has no discernible talent apart from harmony singing, he wouldn't even be allowed in the ring.

Graham will see JA's "Survival" (a song for a beginner if ever there was one) and raise him a "Military Madness"

Jon would be my pick as I just more of his songs to sing too. Nash is one solo album to me(great one) and then his few tunes with CSNY.
I've seen them both in the last few years, Jon is more interesting and seems more at peace. Loved the Jon and Jean Luk Ponty tour.

Yeah, only to give it a wide berth when he’s on the bus in Lancashire.

“Come on Graham, get off the fuckin’ bus why don’t you?”

Nash gives the finger from the top deck and sniggers until the bus pulls up unexpectedly. Jon runs down the road...

Weakened by decades of eating protein-poor macrobiotic meals for breakfast,
lunch and dinner, Accrington's proudest son since Stanley crumples to the

Anderson’s so out of it, he’s not just seeing stars, he’s seeing starship troopers
