Excellent point. The magic of Purple has taken a bashing with recent 'they stole this, they stole that' accusations, and here we hear they were not the only ones, perhaps not even the best at this sort of sound.

Still a band I love dearly, Purple.

Think he's a genuinely nice guy and a very accomplished singer.

This albums reminds me of one of my fave albums from my youth, the only album from Silver Metre. They were Leigh Stephens of Blue Cheer paired with Jeff Beck/Rod Stewart drummer Mickey Waller. Their album is a gem, with several covers of early tunes by a then-unknown Elton John.

Check it out if you don't know it.

Indeed.

I love both bands but I find the Purple albums to be less consistent than Sabbath's

Sorry kath, I know you don't like these comparison things

"Nobody Else," a nice change of pace. Almost hypnotic in the shower parts.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

Mmmm.

Ten years ago it wouldn't even have been close, an easy win for Purple.

Nowadays it's dead even.
