Whatever happened to Foley on lead bass...?

Foley tuned his bass nearly an octave higher than a standard bass guitar and processed it through various effects, allowing him to sound like a lead guitarist

No, it's

We Took The Wrong Step Years Ago

Here's the tracklisting, which is almost impossible to read even as I hold it in my hand!

Genesis - Duke

Hard to rank this one really. I've always thought it better than the slamming it's given by detractors, and it is certainly superior to ...and then there were three... Yet it's not a return to form either. Rather somewhere in between. I enjoy the two hits, "Misunderstanding" and "Turn it On Again" (the Brits got "Duchess" as well - though I don't recall ever hearing that one on the radio here), and "Behind the Lines" starts off the proceedings with aplomb, while the Duke suite at the end is reminiscent of better days.

So, a middlebrow Genesis album to be sure. It's not like they'd ever make a better one after this.

Is this better than the original? I think so - Macca was right.

The first progressive group?

Genesis - Abacab

All right - I'm not gonna make any excuses for this one. Side one isn't too bad, side two - not so much. I don't mind the hits, but the prog is pretty much gone - and this sold twice as much as Duke, so they weren't gonna go back. Ever.

I really like this album. It doesn’t have to be prog to be good.

Agreed Bob.

But it has to be good to be good

Don’t think you’d find many arguments with that C.
