I started the New Year with vague aspirations to keep up as much as possible with a Shakespeare reading project to read all the plays and sonnets during the calendar year. I knew I wouldn't be able to do it all, but am trying to fill the gaps in my meager reading and hoped to get to all the heavy hitters and a few of the more minor ones. But, of course, since we got back from the UK and Europe in January, I've been pretty much underwater with work (which is almost entirely reading and writing).
So far, I've managed Twelfth Night, Comedy of Errors, and Julius Caesar. I started Hamlet over Easter weekend with all intentions of knocking it out over a few days, but was almost immediately waylaid by work stuff. I must get back into it. It's been hugely rewarding (as I expected) but takes a fair amount of work. Julius Caesar, in particular, is a motherfucker.
