The Norwegian public service channel, NRK1, is running a short series of shows where they look back on the Eurovision Song Contest. I just streamed part one so far, but nodded off as I do with everything. However, I caught most of it, and what I like about it is the fact that they don't only present past winners, but also any other songs that stood out one way or another. Like in 1983, when Swedish Queen of Pop, Carola, had her mic fail on the first line of the song, "Främling", yet continued and gave it her all, as if nothing happened. We get a small jury, four celebs and four normal fans (due to Corona restrictions), and this show is to compensate for the Netherlands' cancelling this year's contest due to the pandemic. So far, I haven't seen any entries before 1974, and tellingly, I like the orchestral 70s, even the 80s, a lot better than the playback hell of modern times. Anyway, Carola popped up again in my dream, where I French kissed her.

I’d be worried about Cliff Richard popping up in my dreams. I wouldn’t want to french kiss HIM.
