Haven't listened to rainbow for quite some time - preferred them with the vocals of Graham Bonnet.

I'd have to disagree with you there Rob - for me Ronnie James Dio was possibly the greatest rock singer of all time.

However, I did see Rainbow with Bonnet on vocals (Cozy on tubs) at the Monsters of Rock - Castle Donington Festival 1980.

Really? I don't think there would be many who would agree with you.

Going through a bit of a Donovan phase at the moment, he was really on a roll at this time of his career, next up:

Two fine albums. As an artist, very talented. As a person, he comes across as arrogant and pompous " I taught the Beatles how to play this ....", " George wrote an extra verse for Hurdy Gurdy but I didn't want to use it ", etc etc

I thought you was not a fan of Die Mensch Maschine ?
Or was it Computer Welt?

Computer Welt - I love Man Machine

No, it is not that I don't like it because I do, but i found it more disposable than everything that went before.

It is rarely on my mind to play when I think of Kraftwerk.

I saw them twice on that tour I could see that was the turning point. I didn't enjoy the next albums anywhere near as much.

A great band though

A Beefheart smash and grab. 1 and 2 - brilliant, my favourites.

I saw them on this tour - very excellent

They were original called Second Vision and the album First Steps

Their names, Ric Sanders & John Etheridge, were added on the CD release many years later

Was reading an on line Melody Maker from June 1969, and "Songs for a Tailor" was mentioned. Never realised the title was dedicated to Richard Thompson's girlfriend, who sadly died when the Fairport's mini bus crashed. Apparently, she was a seamstress and had designed some of the clothing worn by Cream

Really? The next album Homecoming is equally magnificent. Things admittedly went a little downhill with Hat Trick and Homecoming...
