Good that we can open this thread, now.
Well, Face To Face and Something Else are definitely up there, but no, you’re not wrong.
I really liked the CD reissue that had the British and American albums.
I made my own version juggling those tracks.

Love it ! Perfect album for a summers day. All the tracks put a smile on your face, even the sadder, reflective ones

Hmmm, my memory is never that good, but I'm positive I didn't start a thread with this title.

It was the banned one. All of his posts and threads have been erased. You just happened to be the first person to post in this thread.
I would have liked to earlier, but of course, it was one of his. Now, though...make merry!

Re: The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society
Well then...
I've been really into the Kinks in the last few years. They've always been one of my fave bands but if anything, I love them even more now and am in awe of Ray Davies. In the same way I think of DeNiro and Pacino together, I compare Ray with Pete Townshend. I think The Who overtook The Kinks in the '70s (until Pete's muse left him after the middle part of the decade), but in the '60s the quality level is much closer. Davies simply wrote more quality tunes during the second half of the sixties than Townshend did.

Re: The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society
This is the version I listen to, imagined as a vinyl album:
Village Green.
Picture Book.
Polly.
Sitting By The Riverside.
Last Of The Steam Powered Trains.
Do You Remember Walter?
Animal Farm.
Mr. Songbird.
Phenomenal Cat,
Johnny Thunder.
Wicked Arabella.
Big Sky.
Monica.
People Take Pictures Of Each Other.
Days.
The Village Green Preservation Society.
Finishing with Days and The Village Green Preservation Society gives a very nice conclusion. It's lovely.
