Bit of an acrimonious break up with Noddy H and Jim Lea who wrote the songs effectively retiring and leaving Dave Hill and Don Powell to trudge arou/nd the nostalgia circuit. Back in the news again this week as Dave Hill has apparently fired Don Powell from the touring band via email (very Phil Collins!). Why don't they all sit down and sort their problems out over a kipper tie?

funny i was just thinking of Don the other day as I was wondering if it was ever established, or if he ever remembered, what actually happened with his car crash. as far as I can tell we're still none the wiser.

The first track was nicked off The Beatles (Birthday) and the one you've posted is a straight Oasis copy!

(I enjoyed them both really...)

track one is a cover from 1959, so they are not to blame for the Beatles nick.

And Oasis based their entire career on 73/74 Slade - Well spotted

This one off the next album is even MORE obviously nicked from the Gallaghers:

Wow! Noel should sue.

Shows how little I know; I'd never realised how much Oasis owed to Slade. I always thought the accusations of them ripping off T Rex and the Beatles were a bit over the top but this ...
Bugger off.

Oh Slade are the absolute template for Oasis - even down to the guitar sound.

But obviously Slade are totally informed by The Beatles, so that is where that comes from.
I think the T Rex thing is really only down to the guitar riffs on the first two albums

Got the 1982 RCA CD, "Slade on Stage" - rip-roaring' stuff and very rare early pressing.
