I haven't really listened to a lot of music since about 1979.
At the end of last year I thought I'd make a playlist of 2019 music to play on Christmas day when we had a few people over. Show how cutting edge I am or something. Anyway, much to my surprise, after grabbing stuff from various end-of-year lists, I found that I really liked a lot of it. Even the wispy voiced bints I've always avoided like the plague.
Most of you are probably familiar with this one and, maybe the whole album. It was originally sold to me as, 'You'll like this. It's really 60s!' Which I do and it is.
He has a great voice and this particular track is epic, from the heavy-handed lounge music extended intro, to the beautiful ballady verse, and through the 60s film music (there's a lot of that on the album) chorus.
Like I said: epic.

Yeah, I really enjoyed that, thanks for posting. My youngest son is a big fan, so I hear him when we go around to his place. I keep forgetting to stream the albums myself, so I will listen to one of his albums later this morning. I thought he was excellent on Graham Norton last week.

I don't think his new one is as good as the previous two but this track is boss. The Morricone-opening is wonderful, the second part has this 70's easy breezin'-feel to it. Great sound.

When I first came across this I thought I was suddenly a bit hip, ahead of the curve, vaguely relevant again. Then it turned out that everyone else knew about him and I was just late to the party.
Damn.
Still, better late than never and it's nice to have someone new (to me) but with a decent back catalogue to look into.
Bugger off.

I am, as yet, unfamiliar with his earlier stuff but I shall take your recommendation of the last two albums and run with it.

I have never heard of him (of course) but I quite enjoyed it and on a scale of 1 to 10 for robustness I'd give it 6/10
It was nice and long, had some tasty guitar and vocals not unlike Lee Jackson.
Almost prog

Did you ever see the T.V. programme 'Big Little Lies' C? If so, he wrote the opening theme tune, it's the first track on his previous album.

It's a great album.
'Hero' is the stand out track for me.
