I'll start working on it at some point tomorrow, 1/10/20 ... I am living in Eastern Standard Time.

1982 - not much for me

Not much better - I could only find these 10 that I liked. Clearly at that time I was already discovering less and relying on old stuff.

The shape of things to come. It will only get worse...

Mystical Adventures - Jean-Luc Ponty
Shoot Out the Lights - Richard and Linda Thompson
Broadsword and the Beast - Jethro Tull
White Eagle - Tangerine Dream
Ship Arriving Too Late to Save a Drowning Witch - Frank Zappa
Rio - Duran Duran
Billy Idol - Billy Idol
Ice Cream for Crow - Captain Beefheart
Quartet - Ultravox
Ambient 4: On Land – Brian Eno

1984

Another poor year for me - I only found 12 'new' albums that I bought that year (that were listed on wiki]

This was the year I bought my first CD player so I was 'replacing' vinyl by the ton/tonne as it slowly became available

Brilliant Trees - David Sylvian
Under Wraps - Jethro Tull [not as poor as so many think!]

Fried – Julian Cope
World Shut Your Mouth – Julian Cope

Here's one example: Hyperborea - Tangerine Dream

So:

The Hurting - Tears for Fears
Hand of Kindness - Richard Thompson
The Crossing - Big Country
Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks - Brian Eno
