In the mail today there was an envelope appearing to contain a greeting card of some sort (I didn't open it), hand-addressed to my paternal grandmother... who died more than a quarter-century ago and who never lived at this address. (On closer inspection, I found it came from the American Cancer Society.)

I'll send out more flyers this week in hopes of finding our missing cat. I saw a cartoon on a lost and found cat's fb page that had me in tears on Thursday night .. I couldn't stop crying. I miss her soo much.

My US passport has arrived. The picture is ghastly. I look like I’m chained to a radiator awaiting rescue.

Both the New Orleans Saints and the New York Jets won ... :D

Both won with a score of 34 - 17 .... I only follow the Saints, Jets and Giants. The Giants had a bye last week.

I know that I shouldn't but do so from time to time.

It seems that on that other place, they think that I'm getting "excited" by the image association thread ...

Well, there is the old adage .. A kitten a day, will keep the monsters away.

I just looked out the back and one of my neighbor's cats is nibbling/enjoying the cat mint. I cut most and am drying it out but love it that our neighborhood cats are still enjoying the mint, even with a bit of snow on the ground.

Our ‘local’, where I go with my pal, now recognises us as regulars and they have our drinks poured before we have even sat down which feels nice. As of last night, they have started piling our snack plates incredibly high- and if you are wondering what the answer to the question ‘can you eat too much deep fried yucca’ is, it’s ‘yes.’

*sniff*

That's lovely (apart from the too much yucca bit).

I miss my local.

Truly mind bending that these things can be found on the internet.

Do you know if she did manage to trace any family members?

She did - both the family members she asked about had fled to Philadelphia, and in the 1980s she and I went out to visit them - my first ever visit to the States.

While we were there, I played too vigorously on their lounge swing chair and brought half the plasterwork down on Christmas Eve. They were thrilled.

I've got twenty employees and EIGHT campaigns at the moment.
It's a big secret but I might have a promotion coming, too, so go me.

I had a pretty classic hand wringing do-gooder moment the other weekend. I had taken all my tote bags to the supermarket - no plastic for me! I had put all the loose fruit and vegetables in piles (not in plastic bags - no plastic for me!) on the checkout and a large family were behind me. I had put all of my hippy cloth bags at the end so the packer could use them. I felt someone sneak in past me and then to my horror looked up to see a young girl, about 14, packing all my shopping into plastic bags. I was about to put up my hand and say "NO, STOP" when I looked a bit closer and saw that this girl had some developmental problems and was grinning at me as she helped, cheerfully shoving two bananas in one plastic bag, three potatoes in another. I turned to my left and saw the family all smiling and nodding at me, as if to say "isn't she a darling," and I couldn't even say "no, that's ok, I have HIPPY bags" as the family were not English speaking. What to do? I'll tell you what I was NOT going to do - and that's pull all the fruit out of a plastic bag and put it under this girl's nose and say "do you want a turtle to choke on this?" so I just let her pack all my shit into bags and then I paid with a smile and left, and she waved at me as I was leaving. I waved back.

Then I got home and shouted at all the bags as I emptied them.
