At the Winter Gardens, Poli Palmer had a huge Moog Synthesiser.

Very impressive to watch him working the patches.

In general I find I play side two of an album - almost always for this album.

And Roger Chapman was like a man possessed. He split the mike stand in two and threw it into the audience near me. Caught some bloke full in the face. Blood was streaming from him. Would be a hefty compensation claim today.

Must have been. I didn't start going to gigs till '74 ish, think technology had moved on a bit by then, don't recall much moog action - also not many of the bands I saw would have had synths.

Well, I always play the whole album, but I agree Side 2 is best.

My brother in law was the man who introduced me to Family, he would confirm your impression of the possession.

Francis Monkman Of Curved Air had a similar set up. I saw them on the Second Album and Phantasmagoria tours.

And here he is, fully possessed! My favourite track on the album.

Love that synth. Nice solo here.

Never saw them, but did interview Sonia when she was fronting her own band round about '77, backstage at Bulmershe Teacher Training College's hall. She was gorgeous, I was pretty tongue tied.

I can imagine. She really was Something Else. An imposing lady, I’d have thought?

I haven’t mentioned Charlie Whitney yet. Excellent guitarist and songwriter.

Haunting playing here.
