All set for El Camino: A Breaking Bad movie on Netflix tonight?

Postby ` » 11 Oct 2019, 09:32

Really looking forward to this. If it is half as good as BB or Saul, it will be a couple of hours very well spent. Anyone else here tuning in?

I didn't give Breaking Bad enough time and give up after the first couple of episodes. Assuming you don't have to be familiar with the whole of the TV series, I'l give this a spin

Suggest you give the TV series another go, Prof. if you watch this cold, like it and restart the TV show as a result, would imagine a lot of the dramatic twists and turns across BB's six seasons will be Donald Ducked.

It was okay, but no more than that. The woman I saw it with actually disliked it. While I won't go that far, let's just say I don't think it will be converting any more fans to Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Was more like an extended BB than a movie.

Far more importantly, Scorcese's The Irishman is going to be on Netflix by the end of next month!

Finally got to see it last night. As others have said above, it was OK.

On the plus side, we got to see a lot more of Todd (a lot, lot, lot more given how Jesse Plemons has piled on the pounds these last six years). The scene where Todd's driving down the road bopping out to England Dan and John Ford Coany's Really Love to See You Tonight while Aaron P's character fights a corpse for space in the boot is priceless. An added plus was that wonderful cameo from Robert Forster. His scenes were given added piquancy by the fact that they were first broadcast on the very day he died.

While the standalone left room for a sequel, I hope Vince G lets Breaking Bad rest at this point

Me too. A former BCBer was offended on Facebook when I expressed my less-than-enthusiastic opinion of El Camino, claiming that he wanted to see further stories about Skylar and the kids. I told him that a lot of Breaking Bad fans don't even like Skylar and not to hold his breath waiting for that one.

It was good enough to make me want to see Breaking Bad again.
