"Ginger Baker is a speed freak, man. That's how he plays so fast."
We actually talked this way way back when.

I've always said every day after 80 is gravy. I would love to think I'll make it to that age. Ginger has nothing to be ashamed about.

Diabetes, asthma, lack of exercise and excessive drinking.

Interestingly I read this in the café red tops today that Peter was going to give free drum tuition for an east London charity - One Drum Foundation

50 years ago this meant a lot to a 17 year old from the haunting Pappalardi trumpet onwards...

Great player, a force of nature. Wrote some of my favourite Cream songs, including this. Love his playing on Blind Faith too. RIP

Yes, me too. My older brother had Wheels Of fire and Pressed Rat & Warthog made a big impression on me. N.S.U was an early influence on me, particularly the rolling drum which was a big thrill. I really enjoyed the documentary about him, although as a person, best enjoy from a distance it seems. But what a legacy he leaves behind. R.I.P Ginger Baker.
