I have my own particular favourites and found it hard to nominate a number 1 so I'll call it at as Alfie and The Man Who Would Be King as joint top.

At least a dozen of those are good-to-great.
I'd say he's underrated, but everybody seems to like him.

Zulu is one of my favorite movies. I start out hating Caine's character, Bromhead, for being a pratt but end up admiring him for his growth as a person and courage.
